Awards
In recognition to the outstanding research contributions in the various disciplines under the Earth System Science, MoES honours the researchers/academicians in the country by bestowing them with the following awards at the national level: Lifetime achievement award, National Awards (Ocean Science and Technology, Geoscience and Technology, Atmospheric Science and Technology), National Award for Women Scientist, Young Researcher Awards, in addition to Certificate of Merit for the Best Employees of MoES institutions. These awards are given away on the occasion of MoES Foundation Day 27 July, every year.

He is the Director, National Centre for Coastal Research, Chennai. He is Specialized in Offshore and Coastal Hydrodynamics, Wave Structure Interaction, Port and Harbour Structures and Marine Spatial Planning. He has successfully demonstrated many projects such as Establishment of Desalination Plants in UT Lakshadweep, Beach Restoration at Puducherry and Kadalur Periyakuppam, Urban Flood Warning System for Mumbai and Chennai.
