Under Indo-Myanmar Co-operation for Ocean Science & Services, a programme for the visit of two member delegation from Myanmar was co-ordinated by the Department to visit various national laboratories in India such as IIT and IMD-Delhi, NHO & SOI-Dehradun, NIO & CIFE-Mumbai, INCOIS & NRSA-Hyderabad, NIOT & ICMAM-Chennai, SSC & CMFRI-Kochi and NIO and NCAOR-Goa for identifying areas of cooperation in the field of ocean science. A three-day Indo-Myanmar workshop on Ocean Sciences & Services was organized at NIO, Goa during 27-29 September 1999 to identify the areas for co-operation between the two countries. A team of 4 scientists from Myanmar attended in the workshop. Representatives from various national institutes dealing with marine activities also participated in the workshop.
