The Department related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Science & Technology, Environment & Forests was held on 24th June, 98 to consider the detailed demands for grants and performance budget (1998-99) of the Department. The Department related Parliamentary Standing Committee also visited the Department's units at Andaman & Nicobar islands and at Goa, during the year.

A total of two Starred Questions and sixteen Unstarred Parliament Questions in respect of both the Houses were answered by the Department during May - December, 1998.
