The Board of Management discussed in depth the future plan of activities in respect of relinquishment, survey & exploration, extractive metallurgy and test mining system. The specific recommendations made by the Committee on Extractive Metallurgy for supply of nodules to laboratories were discussed and the Board of Management decided to make available 20 tonnes of nodules each to NML(J) and RRL(B) for the extractive metallurgy work during 1994-95. The Board considered a plan of work for the PMN Programme for 1994-97.

The Polymetallic Nodules Board considered the plan of action and financial requirements for the next three years for the PMN programme and recommended that approval of the Expenditure Finance Committee be sought.
